Wow, this is a day that will go down in history for me.
I mentioned to my 11 year old daughter at breakfast this morning that I was going into her classroom today to help out. To my surprise, she was actually excited when I told her. A few minutes later I was upstairs putting on my workout clothes when she came into my bathroom.
She looked at me a little funny and said, ”You are going to take a shower before you come into my class, aren’t you?”
I assured her that I would clean up before coming over to the school.
She then asked, “Do you know what you’re going to wear?”
I quickly replied, “I have no idea.”
She then said to me, “Well, why don’t you wear a pair of jeans and a nice shirt with your Ed Hardy boots.”
A turned to her with a strange look on my face. She has never, ever mentioned anything to me before about what I was going to wear so I asked, “Why are you telling me what I should wear?”
Her response just about floored me. As she walked out of my bathroom she said, ”Mom, you’re one of the cool moms that comes into school and you haven’t been to my classroom yet this year and I just want to make sure you look cool today.”
I stopped in my tracks. I actually got a compliment from my daughter, I’d better mark this on the calendar!

You are a cool mom! Ed Hardy boots? Maybe if I buy of pair of them the kids won’t make me park around the corner at the bus stop.
