Thank goodness my husband is out of the hospital, I’ll write more on what happened to him in a future post but, for now, let me go back to Halloween night.
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and I was so glad that it fell on a Saturday this year, it’s so tough when it’s on a school night. The kids were dressed early in their costumes and anxious to get out and to trick or treat. While waiting for it to get dark, I found the devil and dracula in the backyard playing a killer game of tetherball!
I was also able to get my kids to pause from running around the backyard and take their group photo for mom!
Rather than putting up our big inflatable haunted house this year, we decided to make a crime scene on our driveway complete with the crime scene tape and chalk outlines of bodies! The trick or treaters had to walk through the dead dummies who had wiped out on their bikes, skateboards and green machines, and also among some bodies that were, well, not so dead!
Yup, that’s one of my kids ready to scare the crap out of the next trick or treater.
There certainly were some good costumes. I especially liked the kid dressed up as a bush and the little one dressed as the Burger King! Now, the older kids that came in no costume at all and said they were pedestrians, try a bit harder next year.
I also like the kids that are using their heads. They would come up to my porch and say trick or treat and then turn their back to me. “Oh, just stick my candy in my backpack, it sure gets heavy after a while!”
