Team Mommy Warriors Rocks the Los Angeles Muddy Buddy

My friend Karen and I did it again, we completed the hardest course on the Muddy Buddy circuit.  A grueling 8 mile course that, simply speaking, is all up hill.  The race starts with one of us on the bike and the other running, after about a mile and a half we go through an obstacle and then switch places.  We end up switching 5 times throughout the course which finally ends with a crawl through the mud pit to get to the finish line.  It wasn’t pretty but we made it.  We finished 6th place in our age group with a time of 1:00:44.  If only I had a bit more wind on my last run, we may have placed 2nd, if not 1st.  Just so you get a feel for how tough it was, check out our photo at the finish line…

This year the kids also wanted to compete in the Mini Muddy Buddy which consisted of an obstacle course followed by the mud crawl.  On the course they all had big smiles on their faces, once they hit the mud, they were all just beeming.  There’s something about kids in the mud, they had an absolute ball!

The photo below shows Dylan coming out of the mud pit…

If you ever have the opportunity to have your kids get involved in some type of event or race like this, whether it be a 5k or even a walk, don’t even hesitate.  Events like these are for wonderful causes.  At this Muddy Buddy in particular, my kids competed with a boy who had no legs and they had nothing but admiration for him for having the courage to go out and accomplish such a feat.  They all felt so good that they were involved in it and already want to know when they can do it again.

Here are my kids at the finish line…
