Challenge at the LA Car Show

My husband and I took the kids to the LA Car Show yesterday.  They had a great time checking out all the new cars and sitting inside all the different models.  I still find it hard to believe that people will spend so much money on those fancy cars, yeah they’re nice and all but, I guess when you have that much disposable income it’s all about status.

Anyway, we gave the kids a challenge.  We had them find all the different vehicles that would comfortably fit all six of us.  Not an easy challenge as there aren’t many vehicles that would work for us.   Sure, there are the mini vans but I’m not a mini van type of driver.  Been there done that and don’t like the “soccer mom” stigma that goes along with it and didn’t feel particularly safe in them so, the mini vans were eliminated from the search.

They really liked the sportscars, especially the convertibles!  This one below was very cool to them, great color, lots of power but can’t shove the four of them in the backseat!  I assured them that when they get older and start making their own money, this could be an option for them.   As my dad always says, ‘the only thing money can’t buy is poverty!’

We walked the entire show and looked at hundreds of cars.   After all was said and done they were a bit disappointed.  The answer to the challenge was an easy one…

“We stick with our Nissan Armada.  The only thing we can fit in is another SUV with a third row or a 4-door pickup with a bench seat in the front.”  So much for options!
