We seem to have a problem with cell phones in our house, that is, trying to keep them operational. I myself am on my 6th phone of the year. Phone #1 – Destroyed after being thrown in the bag with the spray sunscreen and I forgot to lock the spray nozzle. Spending Saturday with the Kids!

Getting up at 7 am on a Saturday to make sure your kids get to the track meet on time, only to have it start late because the freeway crew decided to shut down the highway… Sitting in 95 degree weather for 10 hours with no breeze, having your skin break out from the new sun screen and wondering how the hell your ass can possibly sweat so much… Giving in to “mom can we have money for t-shirts, Gatorade, Jamba Juice, hamburgers, french fries, snowcones, and M&M’s” knowing that you can’t eat shit because you’re on a diet… Proudly watching your kids ...

Is Sunscreen Really Safe? 1

Of my four kids, two of them have extremely fair skin and, living in Southern California, I apply sunscreen to them every day otherwise their skin will just fry.  So, what’s the deal with sunscreen, is it safe or isn’t it? I’ve received emails regarding sunscreen dangers, watched news segments and read dozens of articles all alluding to the fact that some of the chemicals that are used in the most popular sunscreens on the market MAY cause cancer.  The more I read on the subject the more I wonder whether I’m doing the right thing in slathering this stuff ...
